We’ve had a great day bringing our book collection back to life after a few years hidden away! Big thanks to Rachel and our incredible volunteers who helped with the conservation and we also gave the Grammar School Headmaster’s Chair a bit of a birthday too. Bankfield Museum

A quick update. We had a meeting this evening to discuss the forthcoming exhibition. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, but we’ve taken the decision to postpone our reopening a little longer - date to be confirmed and we’ll update as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, if you would like to get involved and have skills to offer, suited to the museum, we’re keen to hear from you.

As part of the preparation for our next exhibition, we’re delighted to share a soundscape which evolved from one of our CultureDale workshops last year. Read more about it and listen below. Many thanks to all who contributed to it’s making.

Soundscape developed and produced to encapsulate the sounds of Heptonstall's streets and people during its tumultuous history. Funding provided by Culturedale. With thanks to our workshop participants and our facilitator, Michael Crowley.

Heptonstall Museum is nearly back! And we’re hiring a part‑time Museum Coordinator to help keep the place running smoothly — from opening the doors to supporting our brilliant volunteers and keeping the gift shop stocked with treasures.
