Very sad to hear about the passing of artist Gregor Smith RSW, who used to live in Kilcreggan with his wife Liz.
I am lucky enough to have one of his pieces, which is much treasured - rather atypical of his perhaps more well-known atmospheric land and seascape work, this picture is of my dad’s boat in a sad state of her latter days.
Elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 1983, Gregor exhibited widely with Scotland’s top galleries and was collected by private individuals and public bodies alike.
I had fully intended to ask him to show at The Porch some day and obviously no longer can, which is rather sad.
I guess we should never put off important things.
