We offer art classes for adults & children, alongside a busy ceramics studio and programme of changing exhibitions. We also have artists studios and a gift shop show-casing work by local makers. A lot of our activity also takes place in the local community where we provide bespoke workshops for school children, dementia sufferers, recovering addicts, young carers to name but a few as part of our outreach work.

The Love and Hope exhibition is finally here! Explore the heartfelt photography from Hertfords community and see the many different interpretations of Love and Hope 🫶 the festival is on now until the 30th of May.
The exhibition is displayed across four venues in Hertford; Courtyard Arts, Hertford Tourist Information, Beam and All Saints Church. A private view with live music will be held this Friday evening at Courtyard Arts, followed by a lively Community Day at All Saints Church on 9 May, featuring food trucks, live music, and family activities. An introduction to the wonderful world of Fused Glass. Join expert glass tutor, Jane Ducarreaux, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Beginners will learn the basic techniques of glass cutting and shaping, and different fusing processes.

Over the six weeks you will be making:

Week 1 & 2 Coral Bowl

Week 3 & 4 Coasters x 4

Week 5 & 6 Glass Panel measuring 20cms x 20cms

Thursday evenings: 7 - 9pm

If you want to start your artistic journey, this is the best way to begin!

SHORT COURSE IN DRAWING, WATERCOLOUR AND ACRYLICS.

Starts Sunday 3rd May

09:30 – 12:30

£54.00

In this short course we will study drawing, watercolour and acrylic in three separate workshops. The course will start with the drawing workshop where we will work with a variety of different mark makers including soft pencil, charcoal, soft pastel etc.

For the second workshop our focus will be on watercolour and we will learn about its varied qualities, working on wet and also dry paper and gain an in-depth understanding of the sequence of painting from its broad beginnings to its final detail.

Our final workshop will be acrylic painting, gaining an understanding of this bold paint and exploring its qualities from transparent washes to opaque overpainting and also its sequence from beginning to end.

Class Dates: Drawing – 3rd May, Watercolour – 10th May and Acrylics – 17th May

Suitable for beginners and those wanting a refresher.

Our popular Watercolour Short course starts this Friday (17 April - for 3 weeks)

From 9:30am – 12:30pm, Join our experience tutor, Lyn Bruce. As she guides you through the wonderful process of Watercolour painting.

Suitable for beginners and intermediate painters. You will explore watercolour through tutor guided study, personal experimentation, sequential painting and step by step analysis, colour mixing, transparent and opaque paint application and also work from primary and secondary reference.
