🚂✨ Step back in time at The Heritage Centre Bellingham!
Hareshaw Ironworks may have turned our little market town of Bellingham into a major industrial centre - if only the railway had arrived fifteen years earlier. Iron ore was successfully produced for ten years but was too expensive to transport to market, and the ironworks closed in 1848. The remains of the ironworks can still be seen on the scenic walk to our waterfall at Hareshaw Linn.
