Be inspired by the founder of Impressionism in a relaxed and inspiring acrylic workshop. You’ll be guided step by step how to mix and apply acrylic paints to a canvas, using one of Monet’s dreamy waterlily paintings as inspiration.

This two hour workshop is held in my studio gallery Make Space, located in central Hitchin, and is suitable for any level of experience. Enjoy an afternoon away from your usual routine and allow yourself to be absorbed in creativity; bring a friend and make a day of it. The class size is limited to 4, so you will have plenty of guidance.

All materials, as well as refreshments are included in the price. Please note tickets are non refundable less than two weeks before the event. Book online or call into the studio to reserve your space.

Take inspiration from Cornish fisherman turned artist Alfred Wallis in this mixed media painting workshop, suitable for beginners. You will look at Wallis’ paintings of boats and harbours then create a piece of coastal artwork of your own on board using wax pastels and household paints- just as Wallis used ship paints and pieces of wood to create his glorious work

The workshop takes place in Make Space, 3 West Alley, Hitchin, from 3-5pm.

Explore creative workshops at Make Space this spring; we’re offering a varied and exciting range of arty crafty ideas. All workshops are suitable for beginners and are fully guided, relaxed and fun, and come with oodles of tea, biscuits and conversation.

It’s my privilege to host this exhibition of paintings by and belonging to my mum Kate Burgess.

It was her request that I display her work for one final exhibition, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support who did so much to help her and her support network. I hope you will be able to come and enjoy the work, share memories and stories and celebrate her life and art. There are paintings, loose prints, cards and much more.

I’m very grateful to The Picture Framer for their invaluable support and expertise in framing, which reflects and honours the dedication and love for art Kate had.

The exhibition runs 19th to 31st March, open Tuesday to Sunday 10-4
