Yard Gallery Yard Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Holywood, Northern Ireland There is also lift access to all floors.

We are situated on Holywood High Street, which is easily accessed via Belfast and Bangor. We are 10 minutes away from Belfast City airport and have our own car park to the rear of our building. There are accessible entrances to the front of the building from High Street and to the rear of the building from our car park. We specialise in the showcasing and selling of original artwork and fine art prints from Northern Irish and international artists alike. In 2005 we opened our doors along with our sister company, Coffee Yard, with the ethos to bring great art, food and drinks to everyone in Holywood and beyond. This family run business has been a creative hub for emerging and established artists and has expanded into one of the biggest art galleries in NI occupying more than 4000 sq ft spread over two floors. Our Ground Floor gallery has an impressive range of fine art prints; from posters and photographic images to limited edition giclee prints. We have something to suit everyone’s needs and price range with a selection of subject matter including landscapes, figurative and animal illustrations, art for kids and even prints on wood and metal. Our First Floor gallery is dedicated to original artwork. Here you will find an assortment of paintings from all mediums, pencil and charcoal drawings, ceramic work, textile work, mixed media paintings and more. If you can’t visit us in person, all original artwork and prints are available to purchase on our website. We also offer a bespoke framing service instore so you can walk away with the perfect frame to suit your favourite artwork! If you’re buying on behalf of someone special but unsure what art they would like, we have gift vouchers which can be purchased instore or online.

🎨 Staff Pick of the Week!

This week, Gail has chosen ‘A Trail in the Distance’ by Gillian Lonsdale. 🌿

What drew Gail to this piece is the beautiful use of colour and the way Gillian captures such a particular mood of the Mourne Mountains. There’s something about the atmosphere of the landscape that really draws you in, along with the texture and expressive application of the paint, which brings so much character to the scene.

Based in Lisburn, Gillian works primarily in oils, using energetic brushstrokes, contrasting colours and rich textures to bring the landscapes around us to life.

🌿 Create your own landscape in oils with artist Harry Foy! 🎨

Fancy taking a little more time to develop your painting skills? Join us at Yard Gallery for a special three-week oil painting course with County Down artist Harry Foy.

Across three 3-hour sessions, you’ll work towards creating your own landscape painting, exploring everything from the initial composition to the final details. Working from the same reference image, Harry will demonstrate each stage of the process, offering individual guidance as your painting develops week by week.

Inspired by the landscapes of County Down, Donegal and beyond, Harry has a wonderful eye for colour and composition, finding beauty in everyday scenes and bringing them to life through paint.

Whether you’re completely new to oils or looking to revisit your painting practice, this relaxed, small-group course is a lovely opportunity to learn at your own pace.

🎨 Our first Ed Reynolds painting class was a huge success! 🖌️

We had a brilliant group of four who spent the afternoon learning new techniques, getting creative and, best of all, each leaving with a beautiful painting of their own to take home! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and of course to Ed for sharing his knowledge and making it such an enjoyable session.

A huge congratulations to our very own Gail and Paula on the incredibly successful launch of their new exhibition, Loves & Landscapes, at Holywood Library! ✨

The launch on Saturday was a fantastic success, and we couldn’t be prouder to see two members of our team showcasing their beautiful work together.

The exhibition features a lovely collection of prints and original pieces by both Gail and Paula, bringing together their individual styles and creative perspectives.

Kathryn popped down to visit them at the exhibition, and it’s safe to say we’re very excited to see the collection in person!

If you’re in Holywood, we really encourage you to call in and have a look. Loves & Landscapes runs at Holywood Library until 19th October - definitely one to add to your list! 💛

How exciting!! ✨ Today we welcomed Caroline Duffy to the gallery!

Caroline is an Irish artist and designer, best known for her signature big, bold and beautifully colourful floral pieces. 🌸

We’re so lucky to have a fantastic selection of Caroline’s Giclée prints at the Yard Gallery, as well as two original paintings - and we can’t stop thinking about how many spaces could be completely transformed by one of these on the wall!

🎨 Fancy trying your hand at oil painting? 🎨

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience, we’re delighted to welcome artist Ed Reynolds to Yard Gallery for a series of relaxed, creative 1.5-hour oil painting workshops.

During this workshop, Ed will demystify the world of oil painting… from understanding materials and mixing colour to brushwork, composition and layering techniques.

With clear demonstrations and supportive individual guidance, you’ll build your confidence, explore your own creative style and, most importantly… leave with a canvas you’ve painted yourself! 🖌️
