Providence Chapel Charlwood Surrey UK A beautiful historic Grade II* Chapel (formerly a barracks) dating from 1800. Available for private hire. Visit by appointment or Heritage open days.

Providence Chapel was originally part of Horsham barracks being built in 1797. After the Battle of Waterloo it was moved to Charlwood and turned into a non-conformist chapel. When it became disused in 2012 it was purchased by the newly formed Providence Chapel Charlwood Trust. It is a Grade II* listed building and currently on English Heritage 'buildings at risk' register. The Trust has now receiv

ed support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other benefactors to enable a full renovation which will commence late 2017 and complete mid 2018. Following renovation the Chapel will be available for community use including use by Charlwood Village Primary School as well as being open to the public on regular occasions. Details will be available on the Chapel website which will shortly be launched.

PLEASE CLEAR UP AFTER YOUR DOG ALONG THE GRASS VERGE OUTSIDE THE PROVIDENCE CHAPEL
This morning I cleared the verge of dog mess. It is now ready for mowing.
ELEVEN dog poo bags in total!
There are cctv cameras that monitor the area… we don’t want to name and shame… but we don’t want to lose our groundskeeper either!!

Thankyou to the lovely Tricia from ‘Easelifyoutry’ who provided step by step guidance for us all.. there was lots of chatter and giggling as we created our masterpiece’s
Who knew there were so many artistic people in Charlwood?! And so many of you want to do it all again already!! ❤️

Such a great evening of Sip & Paint at the Chapel. Although from the concentration, it was more paint than sip. Lots of laughter too as everyones 'Essence of Peacock' came to life!

One week to go. Come and join us at the beautiful Providence Chapel for an evening of crafty fun. No matter if you’ve never held a paint brush, this evening is a step by step or brush stroke by brush stroke (!) led event. You will get a free glass of Prosecco on arrival and there is a pay bar too.

The trustees are hoping to renew the other in the same spirit….
