I always encourage people to join or make a local art group. I joined my village art group which meets every week and has done for over half a century!!! We all bring our own projects and materials and take it in turns once a month to create a still life. This week Sue brought in her teddy bears. I love that, I would never think of drawing or painting teddy bears! So much fun thank you

New Studio Journal Entry, if you want a feel good short read

Valentine’s Day was never really my thing. Anonymous cards I always found creepy. These days it’s less of a concern being both older and a nun has its perks. However when the manager of Rusper Village Store mentioned that he had not organised Valentine’s things this year, I heard myself say…...

Last day today at the Rusper Art Show.
It’s been such a joy sharing Summer, Breeze, Elements and Summer into Autumn — four paintings that trace the shifting moods of light, colour and calm.
If you’re nearby, come and see them in person at Rusper Village Hall — they really do look different “in the flesh.”
And for those who can’t make it, fine art prints are available online now via [the link in bio] ✨
Thank you to everyone who’s stopped by, shared kind words, or simply paused for a moment with the work. 💛

NEW painting “Breeze”
A quietly emerging ochres, greens with light shifting like air. That feeling of walking through long grass in summer. It’s about that calm between things… the stillness that exists with before movement.
You can see Breeze in the flesh this weekend at the Rusper Art Show — open today and tomorrow.
And for those who can’t make it, I’ve made fine art prints available online for this weekend only ✨
Find them via [the link in bio] — a little piece of calm to bring home.

This talk moved me. It’s what I believe for years and what I have told everyone who comes to my classes. It’s just very succinct and a better put!

The world is on fire—figuratively and literally. And in the middle of all this chaos, I want you to make art.In this passionate and empowering TEDx talk, wri...

A detail from *Stomp* — painted after witnessing a dance of prayer, rhythm and renewal.

This moment in the painting holds the feeling of drumming, of feet on earth, of stories sung through time.

If you’d like to read more, I’ve written a journal entry — and prints and cards are in the shop (link in bio).

Here it is.

‘Stomp’ is a piece I made after something that moved me deeply — a dance I was lucky enough to witness, and unexpected memory of Dad.

It’s all in the journal, if you’d like to read it. Link’s here https://thetshed.co.uk/contemporary-spiritual-art-uk-stomp/

You’ll be able to see it in person for the first time at my open studio this weekend. ❤️

A quiet beginning...
I’ve been working on a piece that holds rhythm, memory, and ancient beats
It started with river stones.
I’ll be sharing the full story in my journal on 5 June, and if you’re local, you’ll be able to see the finished painting in person during my open studio next weekend.
Until then, here’s a glimpse. x

I found Buddhism in my 20s.

Not as a trend, or a pose — but as something that quietly made sense when nothing else did. The teachings of Lamrim and Lojong felt like coming home, and eventually led me to ordination.

My creative life and spiritual life are never far apart. I paint with presence. I teach with compassion. And I try (as best I can) to live with a good heart.

I’ve written about it in my journal — not as a teacher, but as someone still walking the path. If you’d like to read it, it’s on my new website. Link in bio.
