Huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who make the canoe and boat trips possible - sharing their knowledge and passion for the canals and our heritage.🎊

Also a huge thanks to all our customers that join us on these trips to help support the work of the Canal & River Trust

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers.

This week the grounds team have continued working on the recreation boat getting it ready for bank holidays and school breaks.

Our band of gardeners have planted up a new bed, which is going to look amazing when the flowers come out.

The notifications team have continued with the fencing project at lock 18 - they already completed the fence from 16 up to 18, and are on the final push to complete it. That's over 300 meters of fencing!!!

The Wednesday work party have cleared dead brambles and vegetation from the mill pond wall by sandhill cottages (lock 32)

The nature reserve team have started a revetment project to combat the erosion of the river Bank using brash bundles and coppice timber.

We also got the canoes down to the Huddersfield broad canal to carry out a litter pick. We managed to pull 9 large bags of litter from the offside, which makes a huge difference to the area.

All in all a busy and satisfying week πŸ‘πŸ‘
