Hannah and Hamish, checking themselves out in the mirror. Summer is early this year, and so, with new outfits from the Emperor’s New Clothes, they strut about the gallery awaiting their new owners.
Newly arrived, JJ Vincent hares.

Would you help me out here, please?
2x versions of Leonie Rutter’s exquisite ceramic creations.
Which photographic approach do you favour?
Flowing asymetric forms that take inspiration from the fluid curve of an ocean wave, the graceful movements of a dancer or the flowing lines of mathematical knots.

The minimalist designs evoke a sense of calm and poise whilst the sinuous curves and fluid lines suggest movement captured in clay.

Two new captivating mixed media paintings by Tim Brown.
These are required a little bit of a rehang downstairs, but I think a good effect.
When the courier driver came to collect parcels going out from us at around 4 pm, he spent a good few minutes in front of the vertical painting,, he was absolutely intrigued by it and really rather bewitched.
I would add that I’ve included a little extra width to the physical confines, to beyond the frame of the painting (the gray area either side), to make it fit Instagram format.

Anne decided to give me a treat on my first day back in the Gallery, and what a treat indeed, measuring 157 cm long, 91 cm wide
This is one of I believe five oil paintings Anne brought into the Gallery this morning, so thank you Anne, it’s always good to be appreciated after a week away!
In all seriousness, Anne has brought some beautiful new artwork into the Gallery today, so if you have the opportunity in the coming days, please do swing by, they will take a few days to load onto the website, but you can see them in person from tomorrow onwards.

It’s getting late, the setting sun over your left shoulder, casting lengthways shadows both in front of you on Skelgill Bank, but also looking due north to Skiddaw, the air starting to cool, you can now once again see your own exhaled breath, snow beneath your boots is starting to form an ice crust, freeze beneath your feet, but you linger a moment longer atop, Catbells. Drink in the view, the moment. Carpe diem.
