✨New Walking Route Guide ✨
Have you tried the 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 yet?? I walked it recently and have put together a Route Guide for you to learn a bit about it and hopefully inspire you to give it a go!

It is a really well-signposted 8 mile walk beginning at Fenwick Parish Church and following quiet country roads and windfarm tracks to Lochgoin Farm at Whitelee Windfarm, an important site in Covenanter history. Lochgoin’s museum provides an evocative glimpse into the lives of those who resisted religious persecution in the 17th century.

Remembering the eight men from Fenwick who fought for the covenanting cause and perished at sea near Deerness, Orkney, on 10th December 1679.

Captured at the Battle of Bothwell, they were sentenced to transportation as slaves to the American colonies.

Thank you to everyone who visited our ‘Doors Open Day’ at the museum today.
