The painting continues….
We were hoping to have both ships at Goole for the 200th anniversary of the docks. Unfortunately the Environment Agency have not even started on repairing the lock out in to the Humber so that is not going to happen. It looks likely that we will be unable to leave the Ancholme for the rest of this year.
Looking on the bright side we are hoping to offer some river trips from South Ferriby to Brigg later this summer. Watch this space.

We have had some nice dry days recently enabling us to get back to painting Amy Howson’s hull and volunteer Glen has repaired the fibreglass dinghy that we use as a floating painting platform
On the wet days we have concentrated our efforts on the museum area in Comrade’s hold which is coming along nicely.

The work progresses on the sailing barges. The good weather is allowing painting of the exteriors. If anyone is interested in helping us restore these lovely historic vessels they are currently berthed at South Ferriby, just inside the river Ancholme sluce and lock. There is a working party there every Tuesday from 10 am. All welcome.
