The society’s annual general meeting is being held in a meeting room at the Black Boy Pub in Hull’s old town this coming Saturday 30th May, 2 pm.
Anyone interested in what we do is welcome to come along and meet the team after the formal business is completed.

Barton Sloop Regatta River Excursion as advertised in HDM. Possibly 1929, the year of the last sloop race to be held by the British Legion and supported by Barton business people.

This week we completed painting the port side of the hulls of both ships followed by turning them to enable painting to start on the starboard sides.
We were joined by new volunteer Mike.

The work continues at South Ferriby. Getting both vessels ship shape for summer and looking forward to some sailing and river trips.

The work progresses on the sailing barges. The good weather is allowing painting of the exteriors. If anyone is interested in helping us restore these lovely historic vessels they are currently berthed at South Ferriby, just inside the river Ancholme sluce and lock. There is a working party there every Tuesday from 10 am. All welcome.

With the recent and forecast rains the barges are on the mud again as the sluices are opened to eliminate flooding higher up the Ancholme...⛵️

Hi all..Back to watching the lines again this weekend. With the past and expected rainfall this weekend the Ancholme at South Ferriby will be up and down between tides. Some have commented on the lack of Comrades bow lines, there are 3 difficult to see (white) lines from her stbd side that go to the strong bollard that was installed aspecially for this situation.....⛵️

Morning all..After a peak of nearly 2.37mtr at Brigg the ships are sat nicely on the bottom at South Ferriby while the Ancholme is run off to prevent flooding up stream...⛵️
