A proper blast from the past.
This vintage 1980s Dudley Borough promo complete with Lenny Henry, pixel graphics and space‑age optimism, shows off everything from glassmaking to Dudley Zoo, the Castle, the Tunnels and the Black Country Living Museum. If you’re planning a day out in Dudley, why not start with us at Stourbridge Glass Museum (we have space age interactive screens), pop over to , and then explore one of the other brilliant borough attractions in the afternoon. Glass, heritage, humour, it’s all still here.

In 1979, 74‑year‑old Black Country icon Dolly Allen was earning today’s equivalent of £1,500 a week at the Robin Hood Pub in Brierley Hill which was demolished in 2005. Her dry wit had local glassmakers howling- the same community whose craft shaped our region. Their laughter. Their graft. Their stories.
All part of the heritage we keep alive at Stourbridge Glass Museum.

Step back in time! 📽️✨ We’re sharing this incredible clip from the 1966 film Artists in Glass, captured right here at the Stuart Crystal factory (now Stourbridge Glass Museum).
