Come and join a ‘Knaresborough Trails & Tales' guided walk this Sat 17 October, and every Saturday, leaving at 2pm from the Knaresborough Heritage Centre opp the bus station. The walk is £5 each, payable on the day before setting off and you can also visit our current exhibition called ‘Knaresborough on the Tracks’ too which is the story of Knaresborough’s railway and how not to build a viaduct! Entry is free but donations are appreciated.

MORE DETAILS OF THE RAILWAY GALA
on Sat 24 Oct 10am-4pm which features model railway layouts in “Station Hall”, railway themed stalls in the “Goods Yard”, children’s craft activities in the “Junior Workshop” as well as refreshments in the “Buffet Car”.

Please book your Gala entrance ticket in advance as well as a ticket for each talk you wish to attend, as numbers are limited. Call into the Heritage Centre at 12 High St to book in person or book via our website knaresboroughtownmuseum.org.uk or direct from our SumUp store at kmaevents.sumupstore.com

Gala entry tickets: Adults £5, Children 2yrs to 17yrs £2, Infants under 2yrs Free.

In addition, there will be a series of Railway themed talks available to attend in the “Marshalling Yard”. Separate tickets are required for each talk priced at £2 per talk to be booked in advance as seating is limited. Head to the “Marshalling Yard” ten minutes before the Departure time . . . talks last approx one hour.

10:30 hrs Education Coach 1: Children’s Railway stories by Sarah Threlfall

12 noon Education Coach 2: Hudson: The Railway King and Knaresborough by Rob Hargrave

13:30 hrs Education Coach 3: Rails across the North Riding, Dales, Vales and Light Railways by Richard Barber NRM Shildon

15:00 hrs Education Coach 4: The Railways of Knaresborough by Rebecca Lund and James Rogers

Also on show will be the Harrogate Model Railway Group's linked up model of Knaresborough Railway.

Don’t forget these special editions of Rag Rings for Halloween are available from the Heritage Centre. The ring size is 10” and is £15. There are lots more options available for special occasions which can be ordered from the Heritage Shop allowing 10 days notice.

The Centre is open Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun from 10am-4pm.

Our next KMA talk at the Centre on Gracious Street (COGS) will be all about ‘Guy Fawkes, the Gunpowder Plot and the Yorkshire Connections’ on Tues 20 October at 730pm. We will be open from 710pm, so you can pay your £5 each on the door. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Our ‘Knaresborough Trails & Tales’ walk returns on Saturday 3 October at 2pm and every Saturday afterwards. Meet at the Heritage Centre in good time to pay for the walk, which is £5 each, and where our new Railway Exhibition is now on to enjoy for free and on which the walk is based.

THE HERITAGE CENTRE WAS OPENED

on 23 September with our new exhibition
🚂”Knaresborough on the Tracks” which is the “Story of Knaresborough’s Railway and How Not to Build a Viaduct”! Come along and see this impressive exhibition for yourselves which has been created by KMA volunteers and is free to enter.

Our usual opening times will continue at 10am-4pm on Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun.
