It is with regret that we have to wind down the Friends of the Maritime Museum, but finding interesting speakers and a diminishing committee is where we are.

The FOLMM have however assisted the Museum in many ways; promoting Museum awareness with interesting maritime related speakers and financial donations to assist the Museum’s education programme for young people with £2,893 donated in the past twelve months.

This money comes mostly from subscriptions that members have gladly provided.

There is a “follow on”, in that our last speaker Barry Kay heads the Lancashire division of the Marine Conservation Society that’s also aligned to assisting the museum, so a contact of [email protected] for more information.
