A curated home is not about perfection.
It is about feeling ✨

The chair you return to.
The light you let in.
The objects you keep close.
The art you choose to live with.

A home can feel calm, warm, thoughtful, sophisticated, alive…but it does not happen by accident.

You are the curator of your space!

What feeling are you creating in yours?

I paint what I cannot quite put into words.

I often understand the painting after it is finished.
Texture arrives first.
Then a feeling.
Then, much later, the words.
This new series is about that shift into light ☀️

Marcescence 🍂
The golden details among the spring pinks 🌸

Have you ever noticed how oak trees hold onto their crisp, golden leaves all through the freezing winter, long after all the other branches are bare?

There is a botanical word for it ‘marcescence’ but to me, it has always felt like a very human instinct. It reminds me of exactly why we spend the autumn boiling down fruit to make homemade jams and jars of sweet kompot. We are all just trying to preserve a little bit of summer warmth to sustain us through the dark, cold months.

The oaks hold onto their autumn gold to protect the fragile new buds hiding underneath the frost. They only finally drop those leaves when they know the spring has safely arrived.

That is exactly what these heavy strikes of umber and gold represent in this painting. It is the last of the preserved winter warmth finally making way for the fresh, bright energy of the new season.

Are you a jam or kompot maker? What is your favourite thing to preserve? Let me know below! 👇 ✨

To Hold a Cloud 🌸

This week has brought a massive shift in energy. The sun is finally shining, the cherry tree is blossoming, and the kids have been running in the garden from dawn until dusk. We’ve had coffees out on the patio, started planting the spring seedlings, and for the first time in months, everything just feels completely awake 🌱

That is exactly the energy that poured straight into this canvas.

With this painting I tried to capture that exact feeling of relief and chaotic joy. I wanted to see if I could take something as fleeting as a spring blossom and give it a permanent, physical form. To hold onto this perfectly perfect pink cloud!

Are you having a patiocoffee kind of weekend, or are you still wrapped up indoors? Let me know below! ✨👇
