I have spent most of my life as a musician, writing, recording, singing, breaking mic stands with The March Violets, Batfish Boys and D-Rok. I also made swords and armour for a bit, and was a freelance graphic artist. Then back to music, designing midi gear and doing electronic computery stuff for 16 years around the world with the Sisters of Mercy. I also reformed the March Violets, wrote and rec
orded new material and did some touring. I have always written all the lyrics and done all the artwork for the Violets. Then I had a stroke and lost most of my left side, resulting in 6 months in hospital and years of rehab and therapy. This obviously didn't suit the rest of the band who decided to use the 40 year old brand and carry on without me. So here I am all alone and f**ked up, but still doing some creative stuff. Art: I do do messy wet real stuff with Ink, charcoal, paint, brushes and ting. I love it, getting covered in paint, but find I can't do it in my living space... Next: 3 lockdown years of being confined to an isocube where I became an expert in Netflix and developed my own digital approach using an iPad Pro, an Apple Pencil and a programme called Procreate. I had a lot of time on my hands, and not many visitors. I channel my frustration and even anger into the art, and I have plenty. I like to think it shows but I don't actually show my stuff to many folk. If people seriously like anything I get it printed either onto giclee paper or canvas, or whatever they want really. And that is where you are now. I have never done art, audio or visual, for the money. But surprisingly my stuff does sell. So if you really like it feel free to buy it, if you don't, well that's OK, I only produce limited amounts. I sometimes do commissions. I'm saving up for a cruise. Anyway, that's me... a neurologically damaged artiste... the best kind, light shines brightest through the cracks. Thanks for coming, have a look around, please stay in touch, ta # # # Si.
