Two Queens is an artist-run gallery and studios situated in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. With the ambition of providing a centre for experimental modes of arts production, exhibition and exchange, Two Queens is dedicated to establishing an agenda for new activity in the city and across the region. We want to invest our energies into collaborations with new institutions and individuals from outside of Leicester whilst also assisting in the development of artists working within the city. Two Queens was established in 2011 by recent graduates from De Montfort and Loughborough Universities, and has been programming regular exhibitions and events since March 2012.

I PUSH MY FINGER INTO MY PHONE’S EYES 👉📱

What does it mean to live alongside technologies that shape how we work, communicate, create and relate to one another? 🧑‍💻

Our current gallery exhibition – co-curated by Two Queens – asks that very question in its exploration of themes of technological trust, connection, and dependency.

Featuring digital embroidery, interactive software, video, oil on canvas, mixed media, and more, the exhibition showcases the work of an incredible range of local artists 🧑‍🎨

Course: Oil Painting from Start to Finish with Tom Robertson Tom Robertson

3 week course: 3rd, 10th, 17th September, 6-8pm

Join us for this 3-week course with artist Tom Robertson, and be guided through the process of painting in oils from start to finish.

The course will start with the fundamental basics of mixing an authentic glue gesso primer, before building up a painted image in layers. Each week Tom will guide participants through a series of exercises, with time for independent working, resulting in a finished painting.

We had our first in-person show and tell session for a little while and it was good to be back!

Featuring offerings by Felix Wint Alex Taylor Younus Mogul and Yuki Hasegawa

These sessions are an opportunity for studio holders and associate members of Two Queens, Leicester to share something they are working on with a supportive group of peers.

People are often showing very different kinds of work at different stages of development.

Our new exhibition ‘All Being Well’ includes a free, open space for making that can be used any time the gallery is open (Thurs-Sat 12-5pm until 15th August).

If you want to hang out with friends and do some making, need to entertain kids over the summer holidays, or just have a space with a big table to finish a project, please come down and use it.

Very good and very sunny Two Queens associate artists outing to spend time with our friends from Extra Ordinary People and Primary today in Birmingham learning all about how Birmingham feels in 2026
