Flt Lt Jameson (later Air Commodore), 46 Squadron, was again in action with Plt Off Drummond when he attacked a group of Heinkel 111s and a Junkers Ju88 south-east of Narvik.

Jameson shot the Ju88 down in flames after opening fire from 200 yards. Drummond was less fortunate, he attacked one of the Heinkels and shot it down but the return fire was fierce and accurate. His aircraft was hit and he was forced to bale out. He landed in the sea and was lucky enough to be picked up by the destroyer HMS Firedrake.

Jameson reputedly coined the squadron catchphrase at the time - "We don't get much money but we do see life".
