It is with deep shock and extreme sadness that I have to report the death of long standing member and volunteer, Leonard Craig. Leonard has been an outstanding volunteer for over 20 years, playing a leading part in dismantling our Phantom for example. He was always to be seen doing something on some aircraft and always ready to lend a hand. Whilst he had not been well over the last number of months, we are completely devastated by his passing. He will be so sadly missed by so many of us. RIP Leonard.

The Ulster Aviation Society is looking for an experienced museum professional to become an Accreditation Mentor and support its journey towards achieving UK Museum Accreditation.

This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise, act as a critical friend, and help strengthen museum practice in areas such as governance, collections care, planning and public engagement.

We also moved the Vampire from Hangar 1 to Hangar 2... Ray.

With the weekend over we took the opportunity to do some repositioning....moving the Martin Baker Meteor T7 (Special) from Hangar 2 to Hangar 1 to be next to the Martin Baker display. Some of the other exhibits have also switched positions Hawk, Jaguar and Harrier.....Ray.

What an incredible weekend, 6000 visitors on Saturday and 6500 today, Sunday.... 12,500 TOTAL (up from 7,200 last year)....

What an incredible weekend, 6000 visitors on Saturday and 6500 today, Sunday.... 12,500 TOTAL (up from 7,200 last year).

It would not have been possible without the superb help from the RAF Cadets and of course our very own volunteers.

Thanks must also go to the caterers, our special guests each day and last but not least to everyone who visited over the weekend.

To see so many happy people, to hear and read the fantastic comments makes it all worthwhile....the team and I look forward to welcoming you back next year, if not before.

LONG CAR PARK QUEUES expected today! Please be patient.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday and we hope you really enjoyed your day out with your family and friends.

Due to the nature of the free event, there were 15-20min queues to get into car parks yesterday, but our Volunteer Car Parking Marshals got everyone through the floods from night before and into a spot, albeit with majority of people having to walk from our distant car parks on the old Runway area. Please expect the walk!

We also expect it to be EVEN BUSIER today from 10am Opening, so please be patient and expect a queue to get on site initially. It's worth it once you get here. Enjoy your day.

Just a few days to go for our big weekend and lots of aircraft being readied. Hangar 2 has produced this lot, Hangar 1 still to come!! Lots still to do but we're getting there.... Ray
