Such a fun day in the museum today with our home education children discovering more about what clothing was like during the 1940s to the beginning of the 1950s.
From dressing up to getting up close with both museum objects and objects bought in and shared by our participants from their own family histories and personal collections.
We discussed how government rationing challenged the everyday lives of people. Explored designers of the day and discovered where some of our classic clothing shapes came from.
Everyone then had ago at designing their own Vogue magazine covers while taking inspiration from replica images.
Our next sessions will be on Monday 6th July when we’ll be looking at World War I. Full details can be found on our website.
