What an amazing week we're having with this weather?! If it's just a smidge too hot for you, remember that there's lots of places at Plas Newydd for a cooler walk under the canopy of trees and also inside the house too. 🌳

During your visit, why not step into the Music Room and immerse yourself in your own special performance. Inspired by the 5th Marquess of Anglesey and the captivating 'Butterfly Dance’, silhouetted dancers are projected onto the walls, moving gracefully around the paintings. Be inspired to perform, dress up, spin and dance the afternoon away. 💃

Head over to Plas Newydd and explore rolling hills, open lawns, and the buzzing wildflower meadow this May half term. Why not finish your day with a picnic or explore the play area in Dairy Wood? Who knows, there may even be time for an ice-cream too! 🍦

Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at groesawu pawb sy’n dod draw i weld ni dros y dyddiau nesaf. Cofiwch bigo draw i weld y wisg du a gwyn yma, sef atgynhyrchiad o’r wisg ffansi oedd Henry Cyril Paget wedi gwisgo yn ystod ei amser fel y 5ed Ardalydd Môn. It’s just so amazing to be able to peep behind the camera lens of the upcoming film Madfabulous with some of the (mad)fabulous costumes from the film here at Plas Newydd too.

We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors over the next few days to see the exhibition. The gorgeous black and white fancy dress costume, a famous reproduction of the one once worn by Henry Cyril Paget when he was the 5th Marquess of Anglesey, is well worth seeing. It’s just one of the five costumes currently on display as part of the All Dressed Up exhibition, open daily 10am to 4pm, last entry at 3.30pm. Don’t worry, there plenty of time to come and see it, it’s on up until the end of October.

There’s no dress code, no need to dress up ‘fancy’....but then again, why not?!

Mae'n bleser i rannu bod arddangosfa Gwisgo'n Ffansi wedi agor heddiw (15 Mai) yma'n Blas Newydd! 🎉

Mae'n arddangos pump o wisgoedd trawiadol a ddefnyddiwyd yn y ffilm Madfabulous, ffilm a ysbrydolwyd gan fywyd Henry Cyril Paget, 5ed Ardalydd Môn. Trefnwyd i’r arddangosfa gyd-ddigwydd â rhyddhau’r ffilm ar 5 Mehefin, a bydd yn cynnig cyfle prin a gwerthfawr i archwilio’r hanes sydd wrth wraidd un o bersonoliaethau mwyaf nodedig ei gyfnod.

Ffilmiwyd Madfabulous yn Nhŷ a Gardd Plas Newydd yn ystod mis Medi 2024, a hefyd mewn lleoliadau eraill yng Ngogledd Cymru, yn cynnwys Castell a Gardd Penrhyn.

We're so pleased to share that the All Dressed Up exhibition has opened today (15 May) here at Plas Newydd! 🎉

All Dressed Up showcases five striking costumes from the film Madfabulous, inspired by the life of Henry Cyril Paget, the 5th Marquess of Anglesey. Timed to coincide with the film’s cinema release on 5 June, the exhibition offers a rare and vivid opportunity to explore the real history behind one of the most remarkable personalities of his time.

Madfabulous was filmed at Plas Newydd House and Garden in September 2024, along with other locations in North Wales, including Penrhyn Castle and Garden.

All Dressed Up is open daily from 10am until 4pm, last entry to the house is at 3.30pm. The exhibition itself is free, but normal admission prices for the house and garden apply (free for members of the National Trust).

Come along for a guided walk with one of our red squirrel rangers and explore Dairy Wood. Learn fascinating facts about the red squirrels that live here on Ynys Môn.

You might even be lucky enough to spot these charming animals during the walk! Once a rare sight, red squirrels are now thriving thanks to a reintroduction program at Plas Newydd, part of the Anglesey Red Squirrel Project.

There are two walks on Saturday and Monday, starting at 10.30 and 12.30 and lasting around an hour each. Normal admission prices apply but there's not additional charge for the guided walks.
Please note that these guided walks are volunteer dependent ❤

Ar ôl i'r arddangosfa tiwlipau bendigedig gorffen yma’n Blas Newydd, mae’r tîm yr ardd yn codi’r bylbiau yn barod am y plannu i'r tymor nesaf. Eto eleni, mae’r bylbiau yn cael ei chynnig tu allan i'r Ganolfan Ymwelwyr am rodd o £2.50 am 10 o fylbiau. Mae’r pres i gyd yn mynd yn ôl i edrych ar ôl yr ardd yma’n Blas Newydd 🌷

Felly, os ydych yn ffansio darn bach eich hun o arddangosfa tiwlipau Blas Newydd, dewch draw i nôl rhai i'ch gardd gartref? Dim a***n parod gennych? Dim problem, gallwch dalu â cherdyn banc yn y Ganolfan Ymwelwyr ar eich ffordd allan.

Every year after the tulips have finished their spring display here at Plas Newydd, the garden team lift the bulbs in readiness for the next season’s planting. Again, this year, these bulbs will be on sale by the Visitor Centre for a suggested donation of £2.50 for 10 bulbs, all money going back to looking after the garden here at Plas Newydd 🌷

So, if you’d like to have a little bit of Plas Newydd’s tulip display at home in your own garden, why not pop along and pick some up? Don’t worry if you don’t have any cash to hand, you can pay at the till the Visitor Centre with a bank card on your way out.

Mae ardal India’r Gorllewin o’r ardd yn dechrau bywiogi gyda brith o flodau asalea mewn lliwiau oren, pinc a choch, gan lenwi’r aer â pherarogl a lliw.

Enjoy a full colour chart of spring colour with a fantastic display from the rhododendrons at Plas Newydd this year.

The Rhododendron Garden itself is the perfect spot to enjoy all the beauty of these flowers as it reaches its peak in April and May. Whether large or small, the shrubs are adorned with vibrant flowers, making this one of the most peaceful and serene corners of the garden.

The West Indies is also coming alive with azalea blooms in shades of orange, pink, and red, filling the air with their fragrance and colour.

With plenty of time from 9.30am to 5pm to enjoy the garden, why not come along for a walk and enjoy the blaze of colour on offer?

The wind may have picked up a bit, but the tulips are still standing and looking gorgeous.

This year, the garden team chose some different varieties and colours from last year, with the vibrant pink, cream and red and white mix standing out against the lush green of the lawn. Don't forget to come along and enjoy the display around the house and up on the Terraces too.
