It was raining, it was a Monday night, it’s Paris Photo week… would anyone turn up?? I pressed friends to show worried that Deanna and Judy would have travelled to London and an empty studio in Kensal Green. But no! Many legends and loyal photographers and photo fans made it and we had a blast!

We talked and drank and lots of books and catalogues were signed and sold and closed up much later than planned. It was a cracking opening event, one of the best. I am so grateful to each and everyone of you who braved the weather to attend. You’re all legends.

The exhibition is now open - 120 photographs, a single, uninterrupted conversation about family, photography, memory and loss in pictures. Come and see it at Flow and/or buy the catalogue from the link in this post.

Thanks to Deanna, Judy and Rob for making the effort to come to London. I’m so pleased that Londoners made you feel so welcome.

So delighted to welcome the most excellent Christiane Monarchi - Hapax/Photomonitor/Hapax Living Room to see Jem and Barbara’s show today. We had lunch at Mano’s, our local Portuguese grill (where everything is grilled over a stainless steel ‘bath’ of charcoal) as many photographers, curators and publishers have before. We discussed photography and I came out of it feeling there is a lot of good energy going into photography in London right now.
