While gave us a lovely opportunity to reflect, embracing different cultures, backgrounds and experiences is something we are incredibly proud of every single day across our homes 💜

We saw so many wonderful examples of residents and teams learning from one another, sparking conversations and celebrating the traditions, memories and stories that make each of our homes so unique.

From food and music to meaningful conversations, it was a lovely reminder that there is always something new to discover about one another 🌍 Here are just a few ways that we celebrated...

At Burrows House, our wonderful team prepared a fantastic spread of food from different cultures for everyone to try, and there were definitely a few empty plates by the end 😊 Our residents loved chatting about favourite meals and family traditions, and before long the music was on with everyone dancing together and enjoying songs from around the world 💃🕺

Lucton House Care Home was full of colour as our lovely team came dressed in traditional clothing and kindly brought in dishes from their cultures for residents to sample. There were lots of chats about favourite recipes, family meals and traditions, with everyone really enjoying trying something new 💜

At Lansdowne Care Home, our residents spent the afternoon learning about different countries, flags and traditions as team members proudly shared stories from home. One phrase from the day really stayed with us all… “Different Countries, One Home.” And that’s exactly what it felt like 🌍

The The Triangle Care Home enjoyed a thoughtful afternoon with sweet treats from around the world, music playing through the home and plenty of conversations along the way. One of our wonderful carers, Guri, also shared the meaning behind turbans and their importance in Sikh culture, with residents really interested to learn more and even try them on themselves 😊

And at Amy Woodgate House, there were lots of smiles and lovely conversations as residents learned more about different customs, clothing and traditions from across the world. It was so special seeing everyone sharing stories and taking such an interest in one another 💜

Our care homes came together to celebrate VE Day in the most wonderful ways so we wanted to shine a light on how they celebrated 💜

Across our homes there was music, dancing, flags waving and plenty of red, white and blue as everyone joined in to mark such an important occasion.

At Lucton House Care Home, the afternoon was filled with singing and smiles thanks to Hannah Carousel - Singer who had everyone joining in from the very first song. VE Day cupcakes and festive decorations added to the celebration, with our amazing residents really embracing the spirit of the day 🎶

Burrows House enjoyed a lively celebration with Claire leading wartime favourites that had everyone singing along. It was especially lovely seeing our wonderful residents waving flags and sharing the afternoon with families, while Susan, one of our Activities Coordinators, added a thoughtful touch by dressing for the occasion 😊

At St Mary's Court Care Home, residents enjoyed music, games and sweet treats, with plenty of reminiscing throughout the afternoon. The live entertainment brought lots of toe tapping moments, and a big thank you goes to Mark from Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy for helping make the day so special 💜

Kent House Care Home was full of laughter, cake and classic songs, with residents sharing stories and enjoying a real sense of celebration together. It was a lovely reminder of how special these shared moments can be 😊

And at Kingfisher House Care Home, our amazing residents enjoyed a peaceful garden gathering in the sunshine, chatting and reflecting together. There were some especially meaningful moments as Bill shared memories from his time serving in Borneo and Malaysia, while Albert proudly waved his Union Jack. Families also joined in, making it a truly special afternoon for everyone involved 💜

A beautiful week of VE Day celebrations across all our homes, each one filled with connection, memory sharing and joy in their own unique way 🌷

What a wonderful week it’s been across our homes. We have had some really special social moments that are all about bringing people together and creating real connection 💜

At Heath Lodge Care Centre, we’ve enjoyed a lovely mix of activities, from jigsaws and word searches to colouring sessions. Our ball games also brought lots of smiles, with everyone joining in at their own pace and encouraging one another 🧩🎨

Garden walks have been a real highlight too, giving our wonderful residents time to enjoy the fresh air, greenery and easy conversation. We’ve also shared some very meaningful moments through sensory activities and doll therapy, offering comfort, reassurance and a calm sense of togetherness 💜

At St Katharine's House, our weekly community outings continue to be something everyone looks forward to. Whether it’s a visit to a garden centre, museum or a wander through charity shops, there’s always something new to enjoy. These trips bring a lovely sense of independence and plenty of stories to share on the way home 🌿

At Lucton House Care Home, we enjoyed a peaceful walk over to Rowheath Pavilion, making the most of the sunshine and fresh air and taking time to take in our surroundings ☀️

Marlborough Court Care Home also shared a very special moment recently as Moira celebrated her 81st birthday. Surrounded by love and family, including some who travelled all the way from Australia, it was a truly heartfelt day full of smiles and memories 🎂

At Emberbrook Care Home, creativity has been shining through with painting, colouring and some lovely teamwork. Mary proudly took the win for her artwork, while June and Judy enjoyed making a supportive cushion together, filled with chat and laughter along the way 🎨

Across all our homes, it’s these simple, shared moments that mean the most… connection, laughter and time spent together 💜

We’re delighted to welcome Kingston House to the Gold Care Homes family 💜

This marks an exciting new chapter for both Kingston House and Gold Care Homes and we’re especially proud that it’s our very first home in Wiltshire ✨

As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: delivering compassionate, person-centred care and creating warm, welcoming homes where residents feel valued and supported every day.

We’re looking forward to supporting the wonderful residents, families and team at Kingston House as they become part of our wider Gold Care Homes community 💜

What a wonderful week it’s been across our homes, and there's no better way to celebrate than looking back on the smiles, laughter, and those special moments shared in our activities 💜

At Queensway House Care Home , our Knit and Natter group had everyone gathered with needles in hand, sharing stories, helping one another, and enjoying plenty of light-hearted laughs along the way.

Over at Kingfisher House Care Home , we made the most of the sunshine and took flower arranging out into the garden. Surrounded by beautiful blooms, some of our wonderful residents carefully chose the flowers while others sat chatting and helping each other with their bouquets, finishing the day with a well-earned cuppa, biscuits, and a little music in the background 🌸

At St Stephen's Care Home , we had the pleasure of welcoming Worcester Ukulele Club as part of our St George’s Day celebrations. They brought such a fun and lively atmosphere, with our lovely residents and visitors tapping along, smiling, and joining in, with plenty of laughter and a bit of playful banter too. Later, we enjoyed decorating biscuits together, a calm and creative way to round off the day.

Amy Woodgate House and Mill House Care Home Witney also celebrated the week in their own lovely ways. At Amy Woodgate, our residents embraced the occasion with festive hats and fun props for photos, while at Mill House the afternoon began with themed drawing, each person adding their own touch.
Across Gold Care Homes , these moments reflect what great care should look like... connection, community and meaningful daily life 💜

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

Here’s a little look at April across our homes 📸

We’ve loved looking back on another week full of smiles, laughter and those little moments that mean so much across our Gold Care Homes 💜

Our Smile Gallery brings together snapshots from daily life in our homes, and this week felt extra special as we focused on celebrations. Not just the big occasions, but the small wins and shared moments that brighten a day 😀

At Marlborough Court Care Home , we marked a very special birthday as our lovely resident Brian turned 83. There was cake, plenty of laughter and a real sense of togetherness in the room. Brian wore the biggest smile, and it was one of those days that stayed with everyone who was there 🎂

Over at Amy Woodgate House and Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home , National Tea Day gave us the perfect excuse to put the kettle on and gather round. Cups of tea flowed, cakes were enjoyed and conversations carried on long into the afternoon. One of our residents smiled and said, “you can’t beat a good cup of tea,” while another joked we’d won two world wars over one, which brought plenty of laughter to the table. It was simple, warm and full of good company ☕

At Autumn Vale Care Centre , National Gardening Day meant a lovely trip out to Van Hage - Great Amwell . Our residents enjoyed a gentle wander, chatting about favourite flowers and gardens from years gone by, with a few peaceful pauses to take it all in. And at Kingfisher House Care Home , the week was rounded off with a delightful afternoon tea, filled with sweet treats, music and those easy, happy moments shared together.

These are the moments we hold onto. The ones that bring people closer, lift spirits and make our homes feel just that little bit more special 💜
