Bahareh Khomeiry’s ceramics are created through a process of plaiting and coiling stoneware clay, which is then glazed using a mix of beautiful pigments and oxides before firing ✨
The coiled, curved structures of the pieces reflect motifs from traditional Persian architecture, famous for its domed roofs and incredible engineering. With a background in tile-making, much of Bahareh’s practice reflects the decorative styles and craftsmanship of her home country Iran.

There’s one month left to visit Saatchi’s new exhibition ’The Sun and the Moon: Art Inspired by the Celestial’ featuring work from Sebastian Burdon and Joe Webb! 

The exhibition features a range of different practices, all of which respond to these two celestial figures, exploring how they have inspired creativity across cultures throughout human history.
