Chris Levine on the process of capturing the final shot:

"I was working in the yellow drawing room at Buckingham Palace which is where Her Majesty has sat for many portraits, as it has wonderful light. I suggested to Ma'am she might rest between shots. It was during the moment between passes that we captured the image 'Lightness of Being'. This was around the time I had been introduced to meditation and was very conscious of her breathing in order to capture a sense of calm in the work."

Benjamin Thomas Taylor’s ’Love Letters to Art History’ series references iconic figures and works throughout art history, transforming them into bright, colourful works that balance text, images, and shape. One such reference found throughout Benjamin’s prints and paintings is the work of Henri Matisse, specifically the artist's explorations into paper cut-outs 🌀🌿

We recently visited the Grand Palais in Paris to see Matisse’s work in person, which has inspired much of Benjamin’s practice, at the exhibition ‘Matisse: 1941 - 1954’ 🏛

Benjamin Thomas Taylor’s originals and editions can be viewed and purchased over on our website!

Chris Mitton’s new original hand carved piece ‘Discarded Cup’ follows the theme that runs throughout Chris’ practice of “the world we have created through the eyes of those that will inherit it.”
This piece features a marble carved discarded coffee cup, which is 7 time larger than life size, as if seen through the eyes of a child 🥤

Now available on our website, where you can also browse more originals and editions from the artist!
Chris will also be exhibiting his ‘Coffee Cup’ 2025 edition at the Summer Exhibition, opening this June 16th ☀️🏛
