St Augustine's Tower St Augustine's Tower is a medieval, Grade I listed building. It is also the oldest building in Hackney. School visits (pre-booked) can be arranged.

St Augustine's Tower is Hackney's oldest building, having survived when the rest of the original parish church was demolished in 1798. A familiar landmark, it stands in the centre of the ancient village of Hackney, and appears on the Borough's coat of arms. It is listed Grade I, and is therefore in the top 2% of listed buildings in the country. To Visit

Special Note: There is limited disabled access as there are very many steps to climb at St Augustine’s Tower. However, a kiosk on the ground floor with an interactive virtual-reality panorama from the rooftop is available showing the view.
