Each project concentrates on a particular environment within the city landscape, influenced by location. These projects probe further questions about a contemporary topic or issue. What to expect:
Studio/Parlor will collaborate with young emerging artists in order to research and reflect on contemporary issues. The outcome of this process is to create responsive and accessible answers that take th
e form of exhibitions, publications, talks etc according to the topic and artists. We are dedicated to supporting the artists we present with a group curatorial process. Studio/Parlor stems from the idea to find different means of showing work, whilst trying to adapt to the city's vibrant and crowded art scene. Past projects can be found on this website. Studio/Parlor is run by Jean Feline (Artist), Victoria Genzini (Curator) and Polly Wright (Curator)

Parlor - derives from the old french word parloir which means "to speak". Its original use best describes a place set aside for speaking to an audience. In the 19th century western world the parlor was a room, which displayed a family’s best furnishings, works of art and other status symbols. Today a parlor is a common commercial enterprise part of our everyday nomenclature. Studio - derives from the latin meaning "to study". It is an artist’s workroom in which to experiment in order to educate him/herself. It is a transdisciplinarary space built for the sharing of ideas and media. Today the studio is mobile and active, irrigated by the artists that travel through it.
