Here comes the season when light and shadow are at play at Small Gallery. Our gallery space is available for hire only on selected occasions, as we deeply believe in the art of slow curating.

There are two possible forms of collaboration with Small Gallery:
Short-term hire (one to two weeks), with opening hours designed by you.
Long-term hire (one month or longer), following Small Gallery’s routine of visits by appointment (we regularly accept appointments on Saturdays).
Selections are based on the quality of the exhibition and how well it resonates with our space.
We are particularly interested in collaborations involving a one-week hire between 6 to12 August 2026 ✨

What makes us special?
🌳 A cosy, characterful gallery nestled among trees
🎬 An exclusive four-seat cinema, perfect for screening moving-image works
🌿 A large garden, ideal for outdoor exhibitions or activities —especially in the summer

What we can provide:
📐 A SketchUp space model ready for use
📏 Full measurements of exhibition rooms and front/back gardens
🤝 Curatorial and grant application support throughout the process

For space hire enquiries, please kindly email [email protected] 💌

Happy Singles’ Day! 💛

I am Small Gallery, a very introverted gallery in North London. Since my birth, I’ve been running by appointment only. Today, I’m proud to announce perhaps the most introverted exhibition that one can ever imagine: Visit Me Not.

🌿 This exhibition features a single Mimosa pudica — also known as the shame plant or touch-me-not. Its shy, sensitive, and gently antagonistic nature mirrors my current exhibition’s own mode of operation. Throughout the exhibition period, every visit request will be declined. If Yves Klein’s Le Vide (1958) asked whether an exhibition without artworks could still be an exhibition, Visit Me Not wonders: When there are no visitors at all, does the exhibition still exist?

An-Ting Teng, Valley, 2022

Liquid emulsion on paper with angled wood frame
5.5 x 27.5 x 5.5 cm

An-Ting Teng’s practice includes photographic printing, artist books, and ceramics. She investigates unconventional materials for photographic prints through experimentation with chemistry and light. She collects everyday materials, both natural and man-made, drawing from her archive of source material, in which the materials she finds and their contents form intimate dialogues. From everyday materials to unexceptional encounters, her works constantly refer to their own fixed structures, establishing connections that linger. These encounters with mediums generate stories that bring together elements of memory, nature, and longing.

Other than openings and events, Small Gallery runs by appointment only. For the current season, we only accept appointments between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturdays.

Seph Li’s interactive sculpture installed at Small Gallery as part of our current exhibition NOUS. It depicts a jellyfish, a vulnerable living object that continuously transforms itself into different shapes to respond to external emotions. The lighthouse jellyfish reverts itself to polyp stage when the environment becomes unstable and grows up into its medusa stage again.

Other than openings and events, Small Gallery runs by appointment only. For the current season, we only accept appointments between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturdays.

NOUS 19/07/25 to 27/09/25
Bringing together artists working at the intersections of human, nature, and artificial intelligence, this group exhibition reimagines East Asian art traditions as living, shifting forms. Their works traverse pixel and pigment, seeking new vocabularies for water and stones. Nous invites participants to reconsider authorship, intuition, and the possible futures of artistic practice. The exhibition proposes not an answer but an opening—a field of co-creation in which ‘we’ is yet to be defined.

Other than openings and events, Small Gallery runs by appointment only. For the current season, we only accept appointments between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturdays.
