The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) was founded as the Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers in 1880, in order to counter the Royal Academy’s then refusal to recognise printmaking as a creative, rather than reproductive, art. The Society has had many distinguished Members such as Walter Sickert, August Rodin, Dame Laura Knight, Graham Sutherland and Michael Rothenstein. www.re-printmakers.com
