A Symphony in a Box: Meet the 1890 Baker & Troll Orchestra Box! 🎶

Ever wondered what an "Orchestra Box" sounds like? Unlike standard music boxes, this 1890 masterpiece is a true mechanical marvel.

Housed here at the Musical Museum in Brentford, this unique instrument features:

Accordion & Reed Organ: Powered by a specialized bronze prong set.
Percussion: Equipped with a built-in snare drum.
Dragonfly Bells: A beautiful set of six bells for that perfect chime.

A Piece of History:
This box has quite the journey! Originally intended for the V&A Museum, it eventually found its home with us, and we couldn't be happier to share its music with you.

In our latest video, we’re playing Tune #9: Wagner’s iconic Tannhäuser. For an instrument built over 130 years ago, it sounds remarkably vibrant!

✨RESTORATION VOLUNTEERS NEEED✨

🎶Do you always want to understand how mechanisms work?
🎶Are you able to repair common domestic appliances?
🎶Are you competent with everyday hand tools?
🎶Do you value items that still work after more than 100 years?

If so you may well enjoy joining the restoration volunteers at the Musical Museum. No experience with automatic musical instruments is required, though would certainly be very welcome.

🎹Piano tuners, piano technicians and French polishers are all specialists we would be very happy to add to the team.

Join us and help bring four centuries of musical history to life!
