Today was our last day of the Easter half-term programme… and I’m sitting here reflecting on everything we’ve shared over these past days 💛
In partnership with the local council, we had the privilege of creating unique, creative experiences for young people across the borough—moments that, for many of them, they had never experienced before. And sometimes, we forget just how important imagination is… how powerful it is when a child is simply allowed to create, to explore, to feel.
From arts and crafts, painting Easter eggs, to sitting down together and enjoying healthy, nourishing meals in partnership with our wonderful friends at Galleons Cafe—every part of the day was designed with care, intention, and love.
But what made this programme truly come alive… was Noah from Noah the Planet 🌍
The children walked the streets with Noah, played together, laughed together, and most importantly—connected. They made new friends, they spent time outdoors, they felt part of something. And in a world where so many children can feel isolated, that matters more than anything.
Looking back at the photos and videos, I tried to choose a few that could represent the impact… but the truth is, impact like this is hard to capture. It’s not always in numbers, reports, or big words. Sometimes, it’s in a smile, in a moment, in a feeling.
And then something happened today that reminded me exactly why this work matters.
One of Noah’s young friends—who had insisted to his parents that he had to come—brought a letter for Noah. A simple, beautiful letter. Written with honesty, innocence, and love.
And in that moment, I realised…
No report, no statistic, no evaluation could ever express what that letter did.
Because behind that letter was a child who felt seen.
A child who found joy.
A child who, even if just for a moment, didn’t feel alone—but felt like he had a friend.
Noah the Planet was never created to be “just an idea.”
It was created to connect, to inspire, to bring children together, to help them feel confident, creative, and part of something bigger.

Artwork Highlight:

Today we share a rather delightful piece by Gill Bustamante…
Although titled Summer Fading, this work feels especially resonant in January—a time of quiet reset, when the year opens slowly and warmth exists more in memory than in the air. The softened greens and dissolving florals seem to hover between what has passed and what is yet to come, echoing the way seasons gently overlap rather than sharply divide. In its atmospheric light and lyrical abstraction, the painting recalls the sensibility of Claude Monet—less focused on a fixed moment than on fleeting perception—inviting viewers to carry traces of summer forward as the new year begins.

“’Summer Fading’ is a golden green abstract landscape with a white egret beside a small river with pink wildflowers.
A white egret can be seen on the left rising out of the hidden river she was fishing in. Behind her are pink riverside flowers and beyond those you can see the glow of a golden field and shimmering trees. In the foreground you can see abstracted lines of an emerald green field. This is an actual moment of time I painted recently where I came across a startled egret by a small river. You can’t see the river because of the angle but you can see the bird stretching her wings to fly out of it. The background is a golden green which helps to give this sultry abstract landscape an end of the summer type feeling – hence the title. I like to capture moments of time in nature’s cycles and this is a tiny snapshot of a little drama I enjoyed. Dedicated to all the farmers and conservationists who plant wild flowers at the edges of their fields and beside rivers. Painted on deep edge canvas, golden green edges, ready to hang and no frame needed. Comes with certificate of authenticity.”

Happy New Years all!

Laura I Art Gallery is a vibrant contemporary space dedicated to showcasing original and meaningful art from around the world. Rooted in a mission of diversity, community, and creative impact, the gallery champions both emerging and established voices, inviting collectors, buyers and art lovers to discover work that resonates beyond the canvas. Based in London, it’s more than a gallery—it’s a place where art ignites conversation and supports positive change.

Today we share this elegant piece by Claudiu Mircea Mladin to see in the New Year with you....

Poised and unflinching, the rooster meets the horizon like a herald of beginnings. Its alert gaze and saturated color evoke the threshold of the New Year—a moment of pause before forward motion, where vigilance becomes hope. Long a symbol of dawn and renewal, the figure recalls Marc Chagall’s recurring roosters, creatures that stand between the earthly and the poetic, inviting us to step into the coming year with clarity, courage, and awakened attention.

Welcome to Anastasia Viaznikova an extraordinary artist of ours...

"As a child, An sometimes sleepwalked, and this feeling of being both here and not here at the same time became the basis of my artistic world. In this state, familiar reference points lose their clarity and meanings lose their definiteness.
The main themes of her works are the boundaries of reality and perception, fragility and temporality. I’m interested in the moment when an object or an image still retains recognizable features, but begins to transform, to dissolve.
An work with images of elusive beauty, with shadows that may turn out to be someone's silhouette, with things that are about to disappear.
Each work is a door, ajar just enough to see the darkness behind it, but not enough to know if it is empty.
Through painting, drawing and mixed media, she create a space where the viewer can feel both an observer and a participant in this melancholy journey.

An was born in 1990 in Izmayil, Ukraine.
Graduated from the course «Modern Art», HSE (2019), course «Tour modernism: from French avant-garde to American pop art and not only», school of the Chicago Institute of Arts (2020), course «Art and gender», University of Melbourne (2021).

Happy Boxing Day everyone!

Artworkhighlight:
❄️

This work depicts a quiet, dreamlike encounter between a translucent figure and a softly glowing, womb-like form within a cosmic setting. The dreamy tones of violet, blue, and warm amber dissolve the boundary between figure and space, creating an atmosphere of introspection and wonder. The simplified forms and emotional use of color echo the poetic surrealism of Marc Chagall, where inner feeling takes precedence over realism. The painting invites contemplation of innocence, curiosity, and the fragile moment of looking into the unknown.

"Childhood Moon In my childhood, one of my favorites was staring at the full moon, and then I definitely could see a "rabbit" in the moon, which, from the tale many Chinese children know. There were butterflies and dragonflies in the metropolis where I was living at that time, which you hardly see now. I take this work as a remembrance of my childhood and all the views we may never meet again.
This piece is a vibrant acrylic painting on a 2cm-stretched canvas, adorned with bold red, yellow, and green shades. The pronounced texture created by layers of paint on the surface gives the impression of a dynamic, three-dimensional piece. The artwork is impeccable and ready to hang, with varnish to protect it, and cleaning it is easy."

A Christmas Thank You from Laura I. Art Gallery
This winter season, we want to pause and say a heartfelt thank you.
Thank you to the artists who trust us with their stories, courage, and creativity.
Thank you to our community — families, young people, partners, volunteers, and supporters — who show up, believe in the power of art, and help turn ideas into lived experiences.
Thank you to everyone who has visited, shared a kind word, attended an event, supported a project, or simply followed our journey.
Your support reminds us that art is never created in isolation. It lives through connection, care, and collective belief. Even during challenging times, your encouragement has been a source of strength, warmth, and inspiration.
At Christmas, we are especially grateful for the sense of togetherness we continue to build — where creativity becomes a bridge, and art becomes a language of hope, resilience, and belonging.
As we step into the new year, we carry your support with us like a guiding light.
Thank you for being part of our story, and for helping us create a space where art truly matters.
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a bright, creative New Year ✨🎄

Merry Christmas!
⛄️

Here at Laura I. Gallery as a not-for-profit cultural hub, we are committed to championing diversity, inclusion, and social impact through accessible art experiences that empower underrepresented creatives and unite communities....

Today we share one of many marvellous artworks by artist Aasiri Wickremage titled 'Going Home'.

Who's gone home this Christmas or simply staying home?
Whatever you're up to, we hope it's magical and you're taking some much needed time out.

This vibrant canvas blends ornamental architecture with lush, expressive landscape through radiant colour and fluid gesture. Referencing the poetic imagination of Marc Chagall, the work carries a festive, dreamlike quality—where bright hues and floating forms evoke celebration, memory, and a sense of wonder, as if the scene were unfolding during a joyful, timeless festival.

"Inspired by ancient temple gateways in Sri Lanka. This particular temple that the artist has taken inspiration from is from a temple close to her the neighbourhood she grew up in as a child. The artist has titled it going home because the initial sketch work began when she visited her home country after several years. One kind art work and award winner at the London art biennale. The artist's signature is on the front of the canvas in "Sinhala", in her native language."
-Aasiri Wickremage

Aasiri's practice revolves around how she perceive different landscapes and spaces. She identifies with them at an emotional level such as a historical significance or a personal experience and interpret it in conceptual manner in her work. As a Sri Lankan born artist and having lived in and absorbed many Asian cultures, her work is directly inspired by asian art and architecture and their cultural significance.
