The featured artist for May is JOHN WAKELEY.

John was born in Somerset but has been a Louth resident since the mid 1990’s. He originally graduated in Biochemstry and completed further studies in animal sciences, before progressing a career in food manufacturing.

His art references the structures and order that he observed in factory and farm design, production line flows and the underlying molecular science of foods.

The featured artist for April is BOB ARMSTRONG and his exhibition THE JOURNEY.

Bob is a landscape artist inspired by the more remote parts of the British Isles using, sometimes, quite unconventional methods to achieve the desired effect. He had no formal art training and just sketched occasionally when time permitted before eventually signing up for a course.
His work and skills progressed over the years and he has now exhibited in the North, the Midlands, the West Country and in Scotland and Wales. Bob and his wife moved from the North Pennines to Lincolnshire in 2000 where he has now exhibited many times, as well undertaking painting projects for the National Trust at Gunby Hall and for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

The joint featured artists for March are AIMIE ELLIOT and LEE CONYBEARE.

Their joint exhibition features Aimie’s bold and colourful abstract paintings and Lee’s multimedia collage compositions and her oil paintings.

The Riverhead Gallery is open 10am to 1pm Monday to Saturday, plus during all theatre performances.

The featured artist for February at the Riverhead Gallery is DIANA ESTELLE COPELAND.

Estelle paints in acrylic on canvas board. Her pictures are inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding Louth, especially the Wolds. As a comparatively new arrival here, she has been much involved with the charitable activities at the former Priory Hotel on Eastgate.

The featured artist for January is Louth artist SAM WALTERS.

Sam graduated in 2021 with a First in Fine Art from Aberystwyth University and since then she has been busy developing her practice across multiple disciplines, back home in Lincolnshire.
Her work takes the form of semi-abstract landscapes and is inspired by remembered and imagined views, mostly from Wales and in the Wolds.

Now open at the Riverhead Gallery, RIVERHEAD TO HUMBER art exhibition by TREVOR BOUNFORD.

Trevor has been busy through 2025 on a sketch tour along the Louth Navigation from the Riverhead to Tetney Haven. He has also brought them all together in an attractive accompanying book, that would make the perfect stocking-filler for fans of the Navigation and the Lindsey Marsh. Book price just £12.50.

The original framed paintings are also for sale, plus high quality digital prints available to order. A selection of greetings cards are also for sale.

Opening next week and for the month of December at the Riverhead Gallery, an exciting new exhibition RIVERHEAD TO HUMBER by Louth artist Trevor Bounford.

Trevor has been busy over several months creating a selection of pen & wash sketches along the length of the Louth Navigation. He has also brought them all together in an attractive accompanying book, that would make the perfect stocking-filler for fans of the Navigation and the Lindsey Marsh. The original framed paintings will also be for sale, plus high-quality digital prints available to order. A selection of greetings cards will also be for sale.

The exhibition opens to the public on Wednesday 3rd December and is open during theatre box office hours, Monday to Saturday 10am to 1pm, plus during all theatre performances. NB the box office and gallery will not be open on Christmas and New Year BH days.

Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October plus Sunday 26 October, 11am to 3pm. Free admission.
