Thank you Simon for the glass display case, now I can put the more fragile items out on display.
The Harris family donated the German WW2 era Police belt buckle. It typically features a pebbled background, with an oak leaf wreath surrounding a Sw****ka. The phrase "Gott mit Uns" translates as "God with Us". It was used on German and Prussian military buckles, this combination, with the Sw****ka, is characteristic of the N**i period. The family found it washed up in Sand Bay, thank you for donating it.
The next open weekend is June 6th and 7th and on Saturday 6th, the Somerset Military Trust are bringing several vehicles which will be very interesting.

The Hut is open this Saturday and Sunday, 2nd and 3rd of May. There is lots of information about local, and Somerset history, not just Military history - Although there seems to be more stories and pictures recorded in War time. There will be an amazing display of kit, used in the threat of Biological and Chemical agents. The clothing, mask and information booklet. We sometimes forget what our modern day soldiers have to face, many thanks to Rob for the collection.
As a contrast, Simon will have his comprehensive collection of equipment, from 100 years ago.

More fascinating donations for the Hut. Thank you Don, for the map - strangely it's Somerset, in English one side, then France in German on the reverse. Then, the tin, for a German radio headset.
Thank you, Dave, who brought some original newspapers, one from 1900, one from 1943, and the other from the Millennium year - 26 years ago. How some things have changed!

This full publication of the Roman villa at Low Ham, Somerset (UK), brings together for the first time multiple pieces of research undertaken at the site over the past 80 years. The authors demonstrate the development of Low Ham from an unenclosed Middle to Late Iron Age settlement, through early Roman enclosure, to the establishment and development of one of the most elaborate and extensive 4th-century AD villas in Britannia.
