A massive thank you to everyone who has joined—you are directly helping us heat the museum and preserve our local history.

We are so excited to announce that our FIRST EVER DRAW will take place TOMORROW, right here on our page! We’ll be going live to spin the 'Wheel of Names' and announce our first £100 cash winner for this month!

The sun is shining (every now and again) the arena acts are ready, and the town is buzzing! As you head down to enjoy all the incredible festivities over on The Rype today, make sure to take some time for a 2-minute walk down Queens Road to celebrate with us at Lydd Town Museum 🏛️

Doors open at 2:30 PM, and the first 20 people through the door get a delicious, freshly made Lydd Town Museum cupcake, completely free!

👑 🎡 Celebrating Lydd Club Day? Come & visit us - just 200 meters from The Rype! 🎡👑

The countdown to Lydd Club Day this Saturday is officially on! The sun is scheduled to shine, and while you're enjoying the stunt teams, fun fair, and arena acts over on The Rype, make sure to take a tiny 2-minute stroll down Queens Road to come and see us at Lydd Town Museum.

We are incredibly proud to support this amazing community tradition. In fact, did you know that Lydd Town Museum permanently stores and cares for the historic Landau carriage? 👑 This is the very carriage that carries the Club Day Queen and her court in the grand procession through town! We are honoured to work alongside the wonderful Lydd Club Day Committee every year to make this happen.

🎉 Welcoming New Faces to the Team! 🎉
We have some incredibly exciting news for this Sunday! We are absolutely thrilled to welcome two of our newest volunteers, Zena Boulton and Sharon Chapman! Both are well-known friendly faces from the local area, and we are SO happy they've joined our museum 'volunteer' family.

They will be learning the ropes this weekend under the expert guidance of some of our volunteer stalwarts: Pauline Hustler, Suzanne Smart, and Merv. Come along, say hello, and give Zena and Sharon a big wave on their first day! 👋

🤝 Could You Spare Just 2.5 Hours?
Seeing Sharon and Zena step-up has us thinking... we need more volunteers just like them! If you love your local history or just want to give back to the community, volunteering with us is incredibly rewarding and flexible:

⏱️ It takes literally only 2 and a half hours to staff one of our afternoon open days.
🛠️ Not keen on "front of house" roles? No problem! You don't have to be staffing the museum door if you don't want to. We are always looking for volunteers to help behind the scenes with property maintenance, looking after the museum exhibits, and more.
🗓️ Give just a couple of hours or more—whatever works for you!
🔞 All are welcome (as long as you are 18 or over!).
