Are you interested in natural dyeing, textiles and crafts? Well if so you might have noticed that the Silk Museum have a new exhibition in our Corridor Gallery called "Growing Colour" featuring the work of .64 .spilsted

This exhibition has grown out of the fantastic natural dye classes that Becca and Kirsteen have been running at the museum via (keep an eye on our What's On Page for future dye workshops) using the plants from our very own Tunnicliffe garden.

Our Silk Shop also sells a range of books about natural dye, the history of colour, and various other textiles and crafts by some fantastic authors and artists. Pop in to see the exhibition until 1st November, sit in our tranquil garden, and browse and buy our fantastic range of books!

We love the slightly retro colour palette and patterns of these beautifully crafted ties, but we do love a pattern here at The Silk Museum Shop!

This eye catching blue tie is being modeled by our wonderful tour guide Tim, who can be found leading informative social history Paradise Mill tours which really bring to light the human element of the silk story.

The museum shop is open Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 4pm within museum opening times.

Looking through the museum windows we can see the sky darkening and it looks like rain is coming. If you're planning some cosy time indoors then we have some beautiful artist designed lampshades to brighten those dark corners of your home, perfectly paired with our industrial bobbin and shuttle upcycled wooden lamp bases. We've just had some lovely new jewellery in from Macclesfield jeweller Liz Hamman. These beautiful marbled designs are intricately made from layers of bonded paper, and are lovely Summer fresh colours.

The range includes earrings, necklaces and cufflinks.

We have had a new delivery of Kantha Stitch silk scarves, handcrafted by artisan makers in India. Fair traded and made from recycled sari fabric.
They make a beautiful and uplifting rainbow of colour in our museum shop, each one unique and beautifully stitched. Perfect for a cooler Summer evening or a beach cover up.

Two fabulous ladies who regularly attend our Friday art class "Have A Dabble" have kindly agreed to model our new design silk scarves from Quintessential. These scarves are 100% silk, lightweight and somehow keep you cool and warm you up as and when needed, and are one of our most popular brands.
