The Chieftain was out and moving today.

56 tonnes. 750 horsepower. And a former gunner who owns it. In 2023 he found it up for sale. He bought it, got it running again, and put it back in the markings it carried when he crewed it.

It is back in the Heritage Hall now. Our team runs small arms and tank talks in there most days if you want the full story, no fixed time, so keep an eye out.

Enjoyed the Living History Weekend? There is a bigger one coming.

Back to the 1940s, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October. Live entertainment, the Yorkshire Bus Bar, vintage shopping and trade stands, and an evening tea dance on the Saturday, when we stay open until 10:30pm. It is the only late opening of our whole season.

The Band and Corps of Drums will be with us on Sunday 13 September for the All Services Parade and Service of Remembrance. Everyone is welcome.

The Band and Corps of Drums are proud to be taking part in the All Veterans Parade and Service at Eden Camp Modern History Museum on Sunday 13th September.
A special day to remember, honour and pay tribute to all those who have served our country. We look forward to providing the music and marching to make this a memorable occasion. Please come along and support the veterans and enjoy the music 🎵🥁🇬🇧😍

That is the August Living History Weekend done for another year.

Thank you to everyone who came through the gates across the two days, and to the re-enactors, groups and volunteers who gave up their weekend to bring the place to life.

The huts are back to normal from tomorrow, and we are open every day, 10am to 5pm.

One date for the diary: the All Services Parade and Service of Remembrance on Sunday 13 September.

Last day of the August Living History Weekend.

Everything is on again today, 10am to 5pm. Live music from Karen Colin in the Heritage Hall, RAF Hawksmere in Hut 9, a Yorkshire Land Girl in Hut 8, the parachute mine talk at the prefab, and the arrival of the prisoners of war moving through the camp.

Today's change: Medics in Wartime in Hut 6, in place of yesterday's Battle of Britain talk.

Included in standard admission. Last admission 4pm.
