MUTO Project

MUTO Project MUTO (2013-2015) created a program of critically engaging exhibitions and projects, exploring the use of curating as an artistic collaborative practice.

Born out of the Manchester | Renne Exchange in 2013, MUTO offers opportunities to artists and curators for new experimental work, research and critical discourse. MUTO creates a program of critically engaging exhibitions and projects, exploring the use of curating as an artistic collaborative practice. Examining the nature of the curator’s role as an enabler, MUTO commissions and presents a divers

e range of events, exhibitions and residencies, bringing critical, high quality contemporary art to the region and providing opportunities for a broad range of artists. These platforms are used to explore how they can be used as sites for research, and how collaborative art practice can be used as an investigative tool, providing artists with a platform to gain exposure and develop their relationships with audiences. Using the desire to create national and international networks as a departure point, we have hosted a number of short-term residencies for emerging artists. After the success of Play Harder we are now expanding our international relationships beyond Manchester and Rennes, if you are interested in being part of future projects please feel free contact us below.
