Lines can be used in many ways, in fused glass they can be either straight or if put close together they are wonky where they have joined, I love using stringers( long skinny straws of glass) most of the time they behave but sometimes they can be naughty in the kiln and move, once in a while it’s a improvement but not always!

Have you noticed that once you start seeing something, you can’t help spotting it everywhere? Our gallery artists have been looking at how they include ‘lines’ in their work. Wavy lines, straight lines, diagonal lines, lines in nature or manmade lines - we have it all covered!
How many lines can you spot when you’re next out and about?

Colour…
We are continuing the gallery theme of ‘Colour’ with these abstract fishing boat reflections by Lucie Averill.
Sometimes Lucie’s photographs are a full-on riot of colour, but often it’s the smallest splash of complementary colour, or subtle shades of similar hues, that catch her eye.

New framed works and prints are now available, and Lucie is in the gallery today if you’d like to call in and have a look.
