Our Charity Fund-Raising Christmas Concert was a fabulous evening of entertainment! courtesy of the Fauls Singers and the Whitchurch Band - Thank You to each and every one of you for helping us to get into the Festive Spirit!!
We had something for everyone on the programme - some old favourites - some new ones to some of us, too! songs from the shows and some Christmas Crackers!
Special thanks to Ann and Jean for providing us with delicious Festive Fare of Mulled Wine and Christmas cakes, and a very special 'Thank You' to Cyril Dodd - whose idea it was for a concert to raise funds to keep our current museum open and to go towards our Relocation Project to the Joules Brewery site. Your hard work organising it all was very much appreciated.
Grateful thanks to our local stores - Morrisons and Tesco Express - for their kind donations towards the event, as well.
And to all our Volunteers and everyone who came to support us on the night - thank you sincerely and Merry Christmas one and all!

Still some tickets left for our Christmas Concert on Saturday! Get that 'feel good' factor from supporting a local charity and helping to preserve local history this Christmas! We gave some facts about the Fauls Singers in our last post - time to learn about the Whitchurch Brass Band!

The Whitchurch Band are a modern brass band based in the nearby historic town of Whitchurch. The Band’s membership is approaching sixty and a good number are young, very talented musicians.
Primarily a concert band, they have a wide ranging repertoire - from classic concertos and traditional marches, contemporary pop/ rock, through to pieces from top West End musicals – and for the Concert on Saturday they have designed a programme that will also include some Christmas favourites!
Never thought a brass band could be the key to your special event? Think again! The Whitchurch Band specialise in weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and can add that special touch to make your celebration forever memorable. Just as our Concert on Saturday will be a highlight in your festive celebrations!
The band has performed with the Fauls Singers several times over the years for special events to help raise funds for different Charities and we are very grateful that they have chosen the Drayton Civic Society and Museum as their Charity for this concert.
Details of how to get tickets below.

PLEASE LIKE & SHARE!!
Excitement is rising as we get nearer to our fundraising Charity Christmas Concert at the Grove on Saturday 6th December!
The Whitchurch Brass Band and Fauls Singers have performed together several times over the years for special events and to help raise funds for different charities, so we’re very lucky that they have joined together again to support the work of our Volunteers at Drayton Museum in collecting and preserving our town’s history.

We’ve been finding out about both and would like to share some facts about the Fauls Singers in this post (Whitchurch Brass Band Facts will be in our next post!)

Fauls Singers are a group of talented, dedicated individuals who have come together to share their passion for music.
They are a mixed choir formed 25 years ago by a group of ladies who live in Fauls Green. The Choir has now grown to 40 members and make up a Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass sections

Under the direction of David Stokes and accompanied by Rachael Whitehouse they prepare diverse and captivating programmes that showcases their exceptional vocal talents – they have put together a very ‘Christmassy’ theme for our concert to help get everyone into the Christmas Spirit!

If you'd like to join in with the Christmas Spirit and help a local Charity, details are in the poster below
