Thursday 14th May
3:00 – 6:00 PM
Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven Marina
The exhibition will run from 2nd – 30th May.
We hope you can join us for this special preview.
Hubberston Girls is a deeply personal series of works drawn and painted on brown paper, reflecting on life growing up on a council estate.
The choice of material recalls lunch bags and magazines wrapped in paper—everyday objects that carry memory and meaning.
Once oiled, the paper becomes semi-transparent, allowing paint to be applied to the reverse, creating layered, intimate imagery.
The exhibition includes works depicting:
- The 3½-mile round trip walk from Hubberston to the pool on the Rath, with a pause to rest nearby
- Nana and Gaga, marked by the absence of an arm lost in a train accident
- Pill Beach, capturing the innocence of a day spent among concrete walls and heavy pebbles
- Running the Gauntlett
- The Final Church Trip to Tenby, where a vicar intervenes just in time after a childhood climb gone wrong
Through these works, Lynn explores the textures of memory - moments of joy and family life.
