We are an arts charity providing studio spaces and offering art workshops, courses, events and space to exhibit and explore new ideas in visual arts in Milton Keynes. We offer affordable long and short term studio space for artists and creative practitioners, as well as exhibition spaces, workshops for adults and children, meeting rooms and more. We open our doors for Open Studio events through th

e year allowing anyone to come and see what we do. We deliver a programme of events throughout the year, comprising of exhibitions, workshops, and events, all of which are open to the public. STARTS THIS SATURDAY!

Come and visit Westbury Arts Centre during the Bucks Art Week on 6th, 7th, 12th 13th and 14th of June 2026 (11am – 4pm), and see the resident artists at work in their studios.

The 14 participating artists are Mary Barnes, Asya Dudko, Yvonne Elliott, Frances Fox, Vilma Hing, Karen Hiser, Nicky Hunter, Farina Noorani, Tatiana Orlenok, Vonnie Raw, Robin Souter, Joanna Stone, Lindsay Neale Waring and Will Wheeler.

Their studios will be open, demos will also be part of the event along with the ‘Midsummer’ Exhibition by the Artists Collective in the Barn.

Experimental Printmaking — 10‑Week Course
Tuesdays, 1–3pm | Starting 02 June 2026

This course is perfect for beginners and for artists looking to expand their printmaking practice. Over ten weeks, you’ll explore three core processes — collograph, lino printing, and intaglio; experimenting with how they can be layered, combined, and adapted as you develop your own imagery.

The emphasis is on exploration, testing ideas, and building confidence with tools, materials, and methods.

What you’ll learn:
Multi‑colour lino printing using a key block
Carving lino blocks and understanding positive/negative space
Registering prints accurately
Building collograph plates from textured & recycled materials
Mixing & applying inks
Etching acrylic plates for drypoint
Combining processes to enhance depth, colour & texture

Course structure:
• Weeks 1–3: Collograph — creating mixed‑media matrices, printing with both intaglio & relief methods
• Weeks 4–6: Lino printing — key blocks, multi‑colour prints, registration, optional Chine‑collé
• Weeks 7–10: Intaglio — drypoint on acrylic, monoprints, multi‑colour plates, combined techniques with carborundum
