My latest small oil painting will be on show this weekend Friday to Sunday 9.30 until 6pm at Gordale Garden Centre.
The painting is titled A Snowdon Panorama and was inspired by perfect weather conditions showimg the fabulous unfolding landscape from the slopes of the mountain. The sapphire like small pools of water reflecting a dazzling sky.

Dorothy Taylor

For many years, Dorothy Taylor has been inspired by the landscape of Wales with its grand majesty and tradition, whilst remaining mindful of its past and the industrial despoilment that accompanied the pursuit of its natural resources.

Since moving to Wales in 2015, the landscape artist has been intoxicated by the sheer beauty of her surroundings; interested in reproducing in her work the authenticity of any given place that catches her eye. Working primarily in oils on canvas, Dorothy often produces large-scale paintings. She also explores painting with water-miscible media on paper to produce detailed works that invite the viewer to look long and hard in order to perceive the delicate interplay of shape, colour, pattern and texture.

Ers blynyddoedd lawer, mae Dorothy wedi cael ei hysbrydoli gan dirwedd Cymru gyda'i mawredd a'i thraddodiad tra'n parhau i fod yn ymwybodol o'i gorffennol a'r difa diwydiannol a ddaeth gyda'r ymgais i ddefnyddio ei hadnoddau naturiol.

Ers symud i Gymru yn 2015, mae'r artist tirwedd wedi cael ei swyno gan harddwch pur ei hamgylchoedd; mae ganddi ddiddordeb mewn atgynhyrchu dilysrwydd unrhyw le penodol sy'n dal ei llygad yn ei gwaith. Gan weithio'n bennaf mewn olew ar gynfas, mae Dorothy yn aml yn cynhyrchu paentiadau ar raddfa fawr. Mae hi hefyd yn archwilio peintio gyda chyfryngau cymysgadwy â dŵr ar bapur i gynhyrchu gweithiau manwl sy'n gwahodd y gwyliwr i edrych yn hir ac yn galed er mwyn canfod y rhyngweithio cain rhwng siâp, lliw, patrwm a gwead.

Wow what a lovely afternoon I have had today when staff and trainees from Doubleclick came to visit me. A memorable occasion enjoyed by all.
