I’ve been offering classes making copper foiled flowers and I’ve had a number of students ask me how to display them? I’ve just suggested they place them in a vase and then fill it with dried sand as this helps to support them and stop them spinning round etc. They can be make a lovely addition to a vase of real flowers too.
I have also come up with another idea that creates a freestanding display using a glass background to attach the flowers to. This means you can place it on a window sill or shelf in the same way as you can with a vase but the flowers remain in a fixed position. You can also create a colourful background of various designs.
I would like to know what you think of the different display solutions, please comment below
If you’d like to learn how make your own copper foiled flowers please DM me on messenger o text on 07518110343 or email on [email protected]
Many thanks for taking the time to read this post

Here’s my latest fused glass animal character, ‘silly moo’ 😂
I will be making more freestanding animals and I’m definitely looking at offering these as a children’s workshop. Watch this space for workshop dates times and costs.
Many thanks

TEACHERS, THANK YOU GIFT WORKSHOP, FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-11
I’m running a children’s glass fusing workshop at my studio in Mortimer (map and directions the photos), where you can make a mini garden stake gift. These can go in pots or directly into a flower bed and can be left outside all year round
There will be 3 x options available:
A bird
An owl
A heart
The workshop will take up to 30 mins to complete and there will be lots of coloured glass and paints availability to enable everyone the opportunity to create a unique and personal gift to give to your favourite teacher at the end of term. Each stake is approximately 20cm tall and comes with a blank gift tag to enable you to write a personal thank you message

The cost is just £16 per piece and includes all materials, tuition and firings
There will be just 8 x workshops available and these will be for a maximum of 6 x children per session.

Dates and times of sessions
6th July 4.30 to 5pm and 5.30 to 6pm
8th July 4.30 to 5pm and 5.30 to 6pm
9th July 4.30 to 5pm and 5.30 to 6pm
10th July 4.30 to 5pm and 5.30 to 6pm

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the duration of the workshop

Due to the firing process you will need to return to the studio to collect you finished pieces on Wednesday the 15th July between 3pm and 6pm. This will ensure you have plenty of time to wrap your stake and write your message before the last day of school.

To arrange a place please DM me on messenger or text me on 07518110343

Many thanks

I’ve now completed the lanterns that the Czech school pupils created on the 9th May. It was lovely and bright outside the studio today so I decided to take some photos in the sunshine 🌞. All the students worked really well together and I think this is evident now the lanterns are complete
Thank you to Jana and Gerry for choosing me to carry out the workshops on behalf of the Czech veterans and I hope they will be pleased with these memorial lanterns for many years to come.
Many thanks

If you still want to get involved and contribute a little square do come along to City Arts - Newbury for Open Studios West Berkshire & North Hampshire where I will be in residence and you can stitch along with me and see this piece grow and come together.

If you have some complete squares to give to me just leave a message and I can arrange to come collect them.

I’m running a number of glass workshops, using both fusing and copper foiling techniques over the next couple of months. Please take a look at the listings in the photos along with the sort of creations you will be making. No previous experience is required as full tuition will be provided and because I only work with small groups you will be given guidance and help where required.
If you would like to join any of the workshops please contact me via messenger, text 07518110343 or email [email protected]

Found and Reimagined is a collaborative piece that I will continue to work on, with visitors at , during my residency from 9 May - 24 May, as part of Open Studio.

So far I have enjoyed working with adults and children, locally, who have contributed their pieces. These will be stitched together, along with further contributions from anyone who wants to join in during my residency.
