This piece by enigmatic artist potter Linda Styles, feels like the first days of summer. Light-filled and radiant, it carries the promise of long, languid afternoons — golden heat, wild colour, and that hazy sense of joy that arrives with the turning of the season.

Through layered gesture, texture, and beautifully observed moments of stillness, the work holds both movement and calm. A piece that evokes longer days, renewed warmth, and the seeds of hope slowly returning with the sun.

“Quiet Horizon” by Josh Sim

A serene coastal scene unfolds in soft gradients of turquoise and sand, where the horizon line quietly divides sky and sea. Gentle brush textures evoke the rhythmic calm of shallow waves meeting the shore, while the minimalist composition invites stillness and reflection. The piece captures a fleeting moment of peace—where time seems suspended and the vast openness of the ocean soothes the senses.

A joyful little slice of Mousehole life

This piece captures the charm of the gallery in true Julian Christopher style — full of colour, character, and those familiar little details… from the watchful seagull to the curious cat on the roof.

There’s something about these old stone buildings and turquoise fronts that just feels like home.

I’m now opening up pre-orders for prints of this piece — perfect if you’d like a bit of Mousehole on your wall.

📩 Drop me a message or comment “PRINT” and I’ll get back to you with details.

Today we celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of women everywhere.

At The Mowzer Gallery, we’re proud to champion the voices, visions, and stories of women through art. From bold expressions to quiet revolutions on canvas, women artists continue to shape culture, challenge perspectives, and inspire future generations.

This International Women’s Day, we honour the women who create, lead, support, and uplift our creative community. Your passion and perspective make the art world richer every single day.

Here’s to celebrating women not just today, but every day.

In Mousehole town the roofs shout “Oi!”
in traffic-cone orange, bright with joy.
The stones look stacked from fudge and cake,
a village you could almost bake.

Blue windows wink, the chimneys pose,
grey skies swirl like overmixed prose.
Perspective? Julian shrugs, “Why not?”
If houses lean — it adds a lot.

Self-taught since ’83,
he paints on doors (quite literally).
Cornwall through his eyes is this:
a technicolour seaside bliss.

Subtle? No. Sensible? Rare.
But dull? Not Julian — he wouldn’t dare. SOLD.
