We're ending this half term with another chance to explore noise and sound at Mini Museum.

Together we'll discover sounds through storytelling, sensory activities, creative play and museum exploration in a calm, welcoming environment designed especially for children under 5.

Many families enjoy staying a little longer after the session to explore the museum or enjoy a drink and a treat in Café Nineteen20. ☕

Have you spotted one of our museum outreach cases while out and about in the district?

As part of "Our Collections, Your Stories", some of Newark and Sherwood's fascinating museum objects have found temporary homes in community venues!

The displays are proving to be fantastic conversation starters, and we've had some great feedback!

🗨️ "Two lads in their twenties were having a good look at the box over the weekend. They hadn't got a clue what the old till was or what tiddlywinks were, so I explained. They were really interested though. Personally, I loved seeing my old Peaches & Cream Barbie in there!"

🗨️ "She was surprised by how different it [football boot] looked and spent time closely examining it, asking questions and comparing it to what the footwear players like her use today. It was fantastic to see her so engaged."

These moments are exactly what Our Collections, Your Stories is all about. Objects that spark memories. Stories that connect generations. Conversations that help bring local history to life.

A new exhibition is coming to the National Civil War Centre...

Explore how artists have captured and interpreted one of Newark's most iconic landmarks. From historic paintings and prints to fascinating stories of place and change, this exhibition invites you to see Newark Castle from a fresh perspective.

As the Castle's newest chapter comes closer, take the time to look back and see it through the eyes of artists through the centuries.
