We were closed today due to a water leak. Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, and the plumber and electrician who came to our aid, we will be opening as usual tomorrow (Sat 30th May) at 10:30am.

Due to a water leak in the café overnight we are closed today, Friday 29th May. Hopefully we will be able to get this fixed and cleaned up as soon as possible, stay tuned for updates!

Join us tomorrow, Thursday 16 April at 2.30pm for our latest local history film show. The Pitfall documentary brings together ex-miners to share their experiences of life in local coal mines. The area’s 20th Century economic and cultural landscape relied heavily on its 6 major pits which powered the local iron and pottery industries. The film captures mining history and heritage through testimonies, stories and images as well as expert contributions. It builds understanding and respect for both older people as former workers and members of the former mining community, and for the role that the mining industry played in our area. Starting from Monday 23rd March 2026, the café kitchen be closed for hot food every Monday. Drinks and snacks will still be available, so you can still pop in and see us! Service will be as normal on all other days and on Bank Holiday Mondays.
