Join us tomorrow, Thursday 16 April at 2.30pm for our latest local history film show. The Pitfall documentary brings together ex-miners to share their experiences of life in local coal mines. The area’s 20th Century economic and cultural landscape relied heavily on its 6 major pits which powered the local iron and pottery industries. The film captures mining history and heritage through testimonies, stories and images as well as expert contributions. It builds understanding and respect for both older people as former workers and members of the former mining community, and for the role that the mining industry played in our area. Tickets are £5.50 and you can book here -
