Hi folks!

I am walking a half-marathon in September to raise money for MacMillan Cancer charity. This is in memory of the many friends and close family members I have that have been affected by or taken by cancer.

It is a charity that means a lot to me, as my late brother Jim used to volunteer for them before he himself needed their services.

Any donation would be gladly accepted!

If for whatever reason you can't make a donation, then just some kind words of encouragement would help massively too...

Many thanks,

Richard

After over 9 hard-working years, it is time for That History Bloke's red Vauxhall Zafira time-machine to go and join its friends in the great beyond. Bye bye, long and faithful servant...

Off to collect my new time-machine today!

On September 15th this year, I am doing a hiking half-marathon with my friend David (though, that is not us in the picture). The aim is to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support, a charity close to both of us.

As many of you know, we have lost many of our loved ones to cancer. As well as close friends and other family, we lost my dad and my brother to this awful disease, whilst my mum has battled against it more than once already. My brother also volunteered for MacMillan after his retirement from nursing.

So, if any of you have any spare pennies to donate to the cause, please do so - here is a link to the Just Giving page. There is an option to hide the amount you donate, if you wish to. There is also an option to opt out of giving Just Giving an admin tip, if you wish to.

I know that things are tight for many of us, so any words of support would be appreciated too and would help us get through the long slog though Northumberland!

Thanks in advance,

Richard Stevenson
