Last few days to see 'Italian Two Stops' by Barbra Archdale-Smith & Josephine Keith
28th February β 20th March 2026
Many thanks to everyone who came to the opening πΎ and to those who bought works. Exhibition continues until Friday.
This exhibition brings together two friendsβ response to time spent in Tuscany: Barbara Archdale-Smith ARPS AWPF β using a digital SLR camera, who studied photography at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff and is a member of the Royal Photographic Society, and Josephine Keith β using a smartphone, who is new to photography and discovering a new-found talent.
Barbraβs images are a personal interpretations of the moment, and, through composed, captured and edited images, she explores how shape, colour, texture, form and how the light interacts on them, creates mood and atmosphere. They are faithful, yet wistful; they glamorise and promote, showing the best aspect of the subject. They are sometimes painterly and are always sympathetic in their ex*****on. Picturing Tuscany has been an ongoing project for longer than the past decade, and it continues to capture Barbraβs interest.
For Josephine, a recent trip to Tuscany captivated her heart with quaint little alleyways, historic towns and heritage. Hills lined with cypress trees, breathtaking landscapes, olive groves, vineyards, food and wines all infused her creativity which found itβs voice in photography. Her images were captured using a smartphone, but still portray the character and essence of Tuscany.
