What a fantastic day we had at the NW&D Canal Festival last weekend. We had a great day learning more about the Canal Trust and other local groups. It was such a great atmosphere despite the weather, and didn't Colin look dapper?

If you missed out on a trip aboard Falcon our steamboat then stop by the museum this weekend. On Saturday we will be running river trips onboard our electric boat, Marsh Harrier and on Sunday both Marsh Harrier and Falcon will be running trips.

This wonderful rug was created by museum visitors at a recent workshop.

Our next Wild Weaving workshop is on 13th September in conjunction with Heritage Open Days. Gain FREE entry to the museum and try your hand at peg loom weaving, an ancient heritage craft with deep roots in rural life. Using traditional wooden peg looms and natural sheep’s fleece, visitors of all ages can create a simple woven piece while learning how this historic technique was once used to make rugs, mats and seat covers. Drop in throughout the day and have a go.

The museum is open this Bank Holiday weekend including Monday.

On Sunday and Monday we will be slightly extending the times of our boat trips to allow our visitors a little longer on Barton Broad to watch the Norfolk Punt Club's Regatta.

This year the Barton Regatta is a special event as it marks the 100th Anniversary of the Norfolk Punt Club and will include a Battle of Britain Memorial Fly By. If you want to experience the fly by on the water then why not book on our 12.45pm Marsh Harrier boat trip?

It was such an enjoyable evening, and what a treat to experience great music by the river as the sun went down. 🌅
